Management Services Working Group
At the last meeting of the LABC Board held on 12 March 2008, the Directors were concerned that this Working Group had not met for some time, and requested that a meeting be convened as soon as possible. This request was re-iterated at the meeting of the LABC Council of Representatives held on 18 March. Members of both bodies felt that LABC ought to be doing more to assist Building Control Managers in the jobs they have to do, and Council Members requested that the Group develop a work programme and that this is reflected in the 2008 Action Plan (part of the LABC Business Plan). Accordingly I am asking Gayle to contact existing members of the Group to find an early date for a meeting convenient to most people. In addition, one or two Members have left the Group recently, through retirement or other reason, and I am therefore copying this message to Regional Chairs with the request that all Regions try to ensure that they have one representative on this very important Group. The current Chair of the Group, J Alan Andrew, has said he would like to stand down from this position, and so one of the first tasks of the Group will be to elect a new Chair.
